can you explain what you mean a little bit more ?
Hi Michael,
In the UK the wheeled
excavator or 'rubber duck' (as we call them) is no where near as popular as they are in continental Europe and the Scandinavian countries !!
Therefore, when I was looking for a reasonably priced second hand (used/previously owned) machine my choices were; very limited and I saw some dogs/nails/lemons (not very good machines). The maintenance is often neglected, as these machines age!
The biggest problem though, as I say is their limited numbers.
I reached a point where I was considering importing a machine from the Eu (France/Belgium/Holland) or Norway even, as the choice was vast, they were better maintained and pound for pound, there were much better bargains were to be had
Norway had a particular appeal as; for the same sort of money that the odd few in the UK were being offered at, I could buy one there WITH a rototilt - almost every one I looked at had a 'tilty' (what we call a rototilt) fitted!
Plus shipping with DFDS was between a third and a quarter of the cost of shipping from mainland Europe - crazy, but true £6-700 as opposed to £1800 - £2000+
I spent a long time looking for
'the right machine' What I bought is a great tool and will hopefully last me a long time
I am
VERY PLEASED with it
Hope this helps clarify your queries
