1:a november: Infomail Maskinisten

Hej,
de senaste dagarna har forumet strulat något. Vi ber er att ha överseende med detta.
Vi har lagt in en funktion som gör att informationen om ett inlägg är läst eller oläst sparas i databasen istället för i cookies:

På grund av de omfattande förändringarna/anpassningarna i mjukvaran så började det krångla och man såg inga nya inlägg als.

Igår gjorde vi det avgörande steget och lyckades få det hela att fungera.
Den nya funktionen i korthet:
- NYA (olästa) inlägg markeras fortfarande som nya även om man stänger webbläsaren och återkommer till forumet vid en annan tidpunkt
- ÄNDRADE inlägg framhävs
- NYA och ÄNDRADE inlägg framhävs nu även med en annan färg (grönt/rött)
- forum kan markeras som PERMANENT lästa, nya/ändrade inlägg indikeras då ej/aldrig
- nya knappar (U/M/P), U = ändra status till Oläst/Läst, M = Markera inlägg, P = markera som Permanent läst
Vi kommer nu att finslipa lite på designen och på knapparnas/texternas placering.

++NYTT FILOMRÅDE++
Efter en lite kod-ändring slutade det gamla filområdet att fungera. Inte ens backupen kunde återställa funktionen.
Under vår lösningssökning stötte vi på flera hänvisningar till stora säkerhetshål i koden. Därför beslutade vi att införa en modern och ren kod, vilket resulterade i ett nytt filområde:

Tyvärr kunde filerna och informationen ej överföras automatiskt från det gamla filområdet. Det kommer att ta ett tag tills allt är på plats igen.
Vi jobbar även på en sida där man kan beställa PDF-filer på CD-ROM, vilket har efterfrågats ett flertal gånger. Sidan existerar redan och vi slipar på de sista koderna. Den kommer att släppas inom kort.
++NY KATEGORI++
Som ni kanske har märkt har vi en ny sektion i forumet för HYMAC.
Vi håller på att integrera en grupp Hymac-entusiaster från England. Snart bör även detta område att fyllas lite mer.

in the past few days the forums have been a little bit buggy. Please excuse the inconvinience.
We have added a new function which allows us to store the information about the read/unread-status of a post in the database instead of storing it in cookies:

Because of the big changes in the original code of the forums it turned out to be hard to implement such a function.

Yesterday we made the final step to correct everything and now it works.
A short overview over the new functionality:
- NEW (unread) posts are till marked as unread if you close the browser and return to the forums at another time
- CHANGED posts are marked up
- NEW and CHANGED posts are indikated with a color (green/red)
- forums can be marked as PERMANENTLY read, new/changed posts are not indikated any more
- new buttons (U/M/P), U = changes the status between Unread/Read, M = Mark up post, P = mark up as Permanently read
We are now going to justify the design, texts and buttons.

We are closing in to 8,000 posts!

++NEW FILEAREA++
After a small codechange the old filearea stopped working. Not even the backup did fix the problem.
During our research for a solution we got the infromation that the old code is buggy and that it has big security holes. We then decided to installa new filearea:

Sad to say, but the files and the information could not be transfered automatically from the old script to the new one. So it will take som time to restore the files.
We are also working on a page where you can order CD-ROMs with PDF-files. This has been requested several times. The page is online and we are justifying the code. It will be released soon.

As you may have noticed we have a new section in the forums, the HYMAC section.
A group of Hymac-fans are joining us and we hope we can welcome them all during November.
