Anders Berg skrev:Hello Robert

I will writw the answer to you in swedish, our english Hymac friends must excuse.. :)

Nick, in short Anders wrote that he had bought a complete set of levers with linkage etc from someone that has converted to servo (right name?) hydraulics.
He also had to do some minor modifications to the linkages to get it running smoothly.
And he says that his modification gave a smoother running machine.

Hello.
Today i went to the Hymac and took some pictures of the modifications.
As you (hopefully) can see, its not just a "bolt on kit".... But it´s not a hopless project. It will help a lot if you find a linkage system from another machine, then you will see how you should do it. Everything on the pictures that is Hymac green, is from the new linkage system.

On the interior pictures you can see the holes in the floor were the old shifters were.

I have problem with the (beltestrammerene). They will not move with grease and not if i drive the machine into å big stone or something like that. How can i split the belt? do i need a spesial tool? How can i fix the sylinder? Can i use hydraulic oil to push them out?

I cannot answer your question but I would like to help you clarify a little:
What Robert calls "beltestrammerene" is probably Norwegian for "track tensioner". Just in case anyone of our English friends are wondering. :klia:

Ah I think the answer your looking for is how to slacken the track tension, this is accomplished by removing the cover plate on the side of the undercarriage and removing the grease nipple.
Put a large piece of wood in front of the idler sprocket and use the machines dipper arm to push against the wood this should push the grease out of the tensioning cylinder and slacken the track.
Hope this helps.

Thank you jeremy, but the problem is that the track tensioner will not go out and not in, i want to make the track tight. But if the problem is rust in the sylinder i think i have to take the sylinder out???? And then i have to split the belt, how? do i need some spesial tool?

Hi Robert,

The grease tensioning cylinder can seize up due to rust, I would try a new grease nipple first before trying to split the track.
If you have to split the track there is one special link in the track that enables you to do this.
I would turn the machines arm 90 degrees to the track and lift the machine using the boom and dipper, the find the link that splits the track and track it round to the idler sprocket to split the track.
If I remenber correctly the the idler wheel should slide out you can then easily remove the tension cylinder and free it off, you will need to put a new seal in the cylinder.
You can still try slackening the tensioner like I first suggested with a block of wood against the track, if you move the cylinder you may free it off and save yourself the trouble of splitting the track just remember to take the grease nipple out first.
