Hi,

I have a motor grader Nordverk 130 HVT with Volvo Penta TD70B engine. For a couple of weeks the engine has been overheating after working for 2-3hrs and losses power during operation. The engine had problems starting and now it won't start. What could be a cause of such engine power loss and engine not starting at all?

Could the timing on the fuelpump got shifted? Some wheel that has lost its settings?
Try check the timing on that.

If the waterlevel in cooler is OK I agree with Maglomans ideas, check fuelpump timing!

Apparently is it very common on these Engines when they go hot and get powerless that the pistons get stuck in the cylinders. In one or more. Usually Cyl 3-5.
If you continue to run the Engine in this case, will the piston rings get stuck because the pistons melts and smears, thus gets the compressions so low it cannot start again.

thanks guys for your feedback, the unit was not in use of a number of years, and we managed to get it back to life. the injector pump plunger got shifted like 2 months ago, of which I may totally agree to ´ve it retimed.

Is there any other possibility to change the engine with lets scania engine of the same power. any who ever have changed the engine could suggest the model.
