dunno WTF it is? Whether i picked up summat in't roof space, which is real tight and not been in there in maybe 5 years or some other bug, but've felt totally shit all week :sad:

sun has put in an appearance today, after two horrendously wet (and snowy) days, but with a nice drying wind, 'tis a bit on the cool side out there :snow:

Got a very sore eye, after it burst a blood vessel over night, Tuesday .. no idea how/why :???:

.. but it did and showing it the wind makes it want to jump out of my head :uupps:

.... so those forks're gonna have to stay put, where they landed, for today :vissla:

.... exertion and / or wind chill is a definite no no for a day or three :sad:

The Dane decided to play silly buggers last Saturday ....

spent two plus hours pissing about with it, trying to get the bloody thing to run ... would start, run a few seconds then cut out

went through EVERYTHING again ... twice ..... so many lock outs/cutouts/etc on it it takes some tracing, but I thought we were looking at an ignition switch issue ...
so new one sourced and duly ordered .....

I think it was dropping the solenoid valve in the carb ... after it'd run a few seconds, it'd exhausted what little fuel was between it and the jets and dying .....
solenoid valve was clicking in as crank is engaged and assume it was not maintaining it ....
had to start somewhere on isolating the bloody fault and the switch was well tired anyway ...............
was gonna be happy if that cured it, but at least it was a start on the fault finding........... that I thought i'd sorted before

so..... posty brought me a new switch wednesday ..... out with the old and in with the new Dane ran like a watch and started first time ...... this had obviously been giving intermittent issues for some time
One happy Druid today
14 quid well spent and a Sthil bagged part .... perfect swap for OE spec.

so..... Grass massacred beside the drive for another week once the switch'd been sorted

followed by the lawn with the Countax .....was finally feeling relatively normal again, at last and ready to get going again ......... 'bout bloody time

spent a couple of hours Thursday clearing up the 'horsey girls' crap, up at the turning area
horse shit and straw everywhere ..... forgot to take one 'fore I got going on it ...... but this was 3ft deep in crap .... needs to dry some more now it's uncovered ... flat it over again and could really do with a load of planings over it ....... they're too bloody idle to walk to the back edge and tip their barrows over it ..... words will be had AGAIN !!

can't believe the amount that accumulates in the deck in a few cuts !!!

Blades off .. good clean around the spindles and a serious touch up with the 4" grinder .... desired result achieved ... one very short cut lawn !!

spotted some lodgers in the 'Drema's wheel wedge as I walked past it ....

goggles, mask, CO meter, etc. and ventured back into the roof space where I'd left everything a couple of weeks ago when I abandoned me post feeling rough as a dog. :sad:

got a fair bit sorted and one pair of tails for me catenary re-routed through the isolator and from thence to the boxes.
still got the 10mm tails to 'persuade' down into the consumer unit from the isolator, to feed the black shed with ..... Pam was off out at 5 and I wasn't allowed to play with the live bits, once she'd left, so a job for the morning :thumme:

took a couple of pix of Pam's 'new' sleeper flower boxes, before it pee-ed down this morning ..... they're maturing nicely :grin:

I have them set up on a two way circuit which can be activated/switched off from either the house or a switch on the outside of the shed .... :thumme:

was fine one way :thummar:

lot of head scratching, circuit checking, wiring investigating, more head scratching and it came to me :idee3:

these IP67 switches I like, for outdoor use, have a 'tell tale' neon in them, so's you can find 'em in the dark. :smile:

The neon can be wired one of three ways :vissla:

.... on a one way circuit only it would appear .... :vissla:

pity the data sheet with them doesn't say it can't be done on a two way circuit, even though they're a two way switch!! :aaargh:

the flashing was the neon triggering the LED floods through a 'sort of' 'leak' to live :idee3:

..... took it out of circuit ... :grin:

problem cured :thummar:

.... took a little thought, :idee:

but sussed it in the end . :hurra:

now awaiting darkness to see just what sort of results we have .... both in't shed and outside. :grin:

another hour back in me favorite place to square up and secure everything .... :huh:
