'evening guys .. can't believe it's 6 months and more since I was in here last ... hope everyone is OK ... lot happened in that time .. probabaly

our weather is absolutely sh1t at the moment ..... the heating has just come on doesn't look like we are going to see any summer, apart from the odd 'nice' day perhaps ... had a couple of days too hot to breathe at the start of June .. been crap ever since.

will have to have a look back here and see what I was wittering about last and give you some 'edited highlights' since

glad to hear it's not just us getting the sh1tty weather ...
Pam's son has spent the last 8 weeks jollying around Europe in his camper, with the wife and 3 kids (all under 4) and has had it as high as 41C ....
back at the end of the week and they are in for a shock ...
heating came on here last night (set at 14C) and has done a few times the last week or so ...
some of the rain has to be seen to be believed ...
have had 12mm hail stones ...
josh sent us a pic of 30+mm hail somewhere

you lucky lad .... we have had a few nice days last month, but June has been total shite ... down to 3C on the odd night

17C today so better than earlier in the week and the winds that've made it feel so cold, even when the sun shines have dropped.
rest of this week is not forecast to be up to much, but next weeks is looking better

hard to get on and do anything .. did get the grass mowed this morning, despite the overnight deluges the wind had dried it by ten and it cut well ... finished just as it started to rain AGAIN !!
at least I didn't need my fleece this morning

well I've not been sat on me bum all this time ...
have managed to get a few things made and a bit done
busy uploading pix to the gallery at the moment, as photobucket continues to be a hit and miss affair, but a lot quicker than the 'gallery' is to load to, when it's behaving .....

so .... had to buy some steel earlier in the year as I'd run out of all sorts and my mate down the road has also retired so nipping down to his place is no longer possible .... getting my old stockholders to deliver necessitated a decent order .. 4+t did the trick



the long piece was a job for Pam's son Josh .. doing an attic conversion at his house and needed some beams to support the new floor .. having it in a 12.2m was the most economical way to cut it


the plate was for a.n.other job for my BIL (brother in law) .. more on that later











the end plates were the last things to arrive about 4 days later ... driver forgot to give them to me out of the cab
the dead disc got 'bitten' by the channel ... forgot to pack under the cut and it bit'/grabbed as the cut closed



and here was the rest of it ... should last me a while




Clara having a go at the rock with her favorite chipping hammer .. still loves to beat lumps out of it

getting it sorted....


and after a major sort out it looked a bit tidier


channels lopped and stuck out the way for a while, whilst I got the rest sorted ....

first item on the agenda ... sort the end plates










then I needed to create some haunches for the joints ....






then set them up ..


get them tacked in position ... have to be 100% perfectly square or the flying joint won't be straight ...

and the first half 'mirror pair' ready to come off the bench


and dropped on the floor
