I'd only just parked the VA-r there ..... bloody covered in Plantohyd and the box and ... and ... and .... anything within 30+ feet basically!!!!

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171013_17_02_33_Pro_zpsog6ndfnz.jpg

bloody wind even managed to cover the rear of the tail weight !!!! :aaargh:

this was 5 o'clock! .....
we were going out at 6.30, :uupps: to the local theatre to see Buddy Holly - and the Cricketers who were actually bloody excellent .....

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20171013_21_36_21_Pro_zpsleaudpjw.jpg

Hell couldn't they play ....... and sing

Frantic spray session with a spray bottle full of TFR (traffic film remover)and a bloody good hosing down, 'fore we went, to try and 'get on top of' the worst of it!!
It was bloody everywhere !!!!! :uupps: :uupps:

the offending hose had to wait 'til the morning and a rapid removal, for a trip to the hyd boys in Raglan, 'fore they shut on Saturday lunchtime. :vissla:

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171014_09_18_38_Pro_zpsaccoeobu.jpg

(before anyone comments on the 'tape' wrap on it .....
trying to keep the weather out of a nasty bit of scarfing on the outer rubber, from the previous owner) :vissla:

so ........ got the old one off, on the sat. morning, ... :vissla:

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171014_09_27_49_Pro_zpsjpjd5bsz.jpg

I'd say an original pipe and looking pretty perished too, bent into the bucket.
I'd already rung and checked that they had the split flange fittings .... didn't dare ask the price !! :uupps: :uupps:

blanked the port off with an ali disc and G clamp :thumme: and

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171014_12_09_20_Pro_zpsacdwz0vz.jpg

shot off to get some made up....... :vissla:

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171014_12_09_25_Pro_zpsirlazmy9.jpg

wanted a pair.... t'other side was the same age and probably equally as fragile ....... :uupps:
but they only had the one flat flange fitting in stock ... :aaargh:

was gonna be a Tuesday job

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171014_12_36_48_Pro_zpswfiqeejl.jpg

went on sweet as .......... :thummar:

fittings were late arriving on the Tuesday, so I went out the following Wednesday morning and took my QH tails with me, as what was on her were also looking a bit 'suspect'. :uupps:
After the line up the boom/dipper had popped earlier in the year, :uupps: I'd been intending to replace these two and this seemed as good a time as any ..... :thumme: ;)
did not want any more Plantohyd dramas thank you!! :uupps: :uupps: :uupps: :vissla:

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171018_14_47_18_Pro_zpsk5nnqeve.jpg

second crowd tail went on sweet as too ...

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171018_16_12_11_Pro_zpshot37jfs.jpg

I'd understood the bucket crowd tails were on a 3 way changeover valve, on the side of the ram ports :???: .... judging by the fountain, they're live all the time  and the valve merely locks out the ram ports :vissla: ..... explains why they have screw together ISO QCs ... always under pressure and take a bit of coupling up !!!! :uupps:

The Qh tails went on with some slight cursing ........ :aaargh:

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171018_16_12_23_Pro_zpsjzqx28ge.jpg

bit tight for space and getting 'em done up on the cylinder called for a large selection of spanners, to get the various angles to pinch 'em up in a very confined area ...

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171018_16_12_31_Pro_zpsuhy5cldz.jpg

note the safety pin ..... just in case !!! ;)

really did not wanna drop the ram out of there :uupps: ... 'twas all well manky and looked bloody heavy  .... just for two pissy lil' fittings !!!!! :vissla:

a delinquent selection of plumbing later .......

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171018_16_12_59_Pro_zpsobvjsvht.jpg

..... and the wallet lightened some !!!! :uupps: Those split flange ends are 70 quid each :uupps: :uupps: ... apparently ... :vissla:
I got well looked after by Marty .. he's a good lad :thummar:
If it's got tracks, wheels, t*ts, or an engine, at some point it's gonna give you trouble!! :uupps:

these turned up the same Wed. afternoon too ........

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171018_14_47_10_Pro_zps1zqzbghh.jpg

ready for fitting to the Countax ....... :vissla:
had a bit of a blowout last time I used it ..... just as I was putting her away fortunately ..... :vissla:
tyres were 'well to the woods', so time for some new ones !!

little bar stewards took some wrestling off ....... :aaargh:

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20171017_11_31_48_Pro_zpsllfsydus.jpg

especially as some handy @w@t had used a bottle of puncy repair on the one ..... :aaargh:
even though it wasn't tubeless and glued the bloody tube to the tyre, inside it!!! :aaargh: :aaargh:

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20171017_12_08_50_Pro_zpsa6uyoqto.jpg

said tyre claimed a bit of druid skin getting the bugger apart and the tube out, to get the tyre off the rim :vissla: ..... tighter than ............. :vissla: :uupps:  :aaargh:
(I'll let you finish the phrase with your own choices, but you know what I mean)

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20171017_12_08_57_Pro_zpsfwemfb4n.jpg

even with it firmly bolted to the planet !! :thumme:

Even though I seem to bleed a lot easier these days .... I still heal real well .. fortunately !

rim took a bit of cleaning up, but got there eventually, ready for the new one to go on ..... :thumme:

Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20171017_12_21_52_Pro_zpsnpglzxx1.jpg

Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20171020_12_56_32_Pro_zps0celfcjn.jpg

and got it seated and inflated properly .... with a bit more wind than than was recommended, to seat it ... and let it back out quick!! :uupps: :uupps:

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20171020_13_03_13_Pro_zpsryttcbdk.jpg

and another front :vissla: ..... glad I have me 'deflater' to get the wind out and collapse the tube inside the tyre ;) .... would have taken some shifting off the bead without it!! :aaargh:

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20171020_13_59_53_Pro_zpskcvufmug.jpg

Can't beat a 30mm bench top to bolt the bugger down to ... they ain't escaping from that in a hurry :lmao:

and she was ready for a few more seasons ..... they've done well really .. :thummar:
seven years in my tender care and three more before I had her, so can't grumble at tyre life :lmao:

Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20171020_15_42_46_Pro_zpsxb02s2ib.jpg

Looks like a 5th of November job to me .... after dark, of course !! :vissla: :thummar:

our lovely weather hadn't permitted a test drive at all that week and I wasn't here the following weekend to even see what said weather had been up to ...... :vissla:

we'd been down to Plymouth to see this lil fella .....

permit parking only outside the kids' house  .... 10 a.m. to11 a.m. each day .... :vissla:
designed to stop people parking there all day ... forgot to move the car that morning, for an hour ........
the kids do have visitor permits, but have had so many lately they'd run out of tickets :aaargh:
35 quid for three days parking's a bit excessive :ohnej: ..... but barely worth the effort of contesting ... won't forget it again !!!!!!!

Can't remember when i found time to do this :vissla: ... but at some point in the last few weeks, the shed next to the baskets, which has been in dire need of a re-roof, for some time, got done... :thumme:

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/sheds/WP_20171015_16_31_18_Pro_zps5hq5lr0i.jpg

been needing a new 'waterproof' for the coming winter ....... and hopefully ... way beyond

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/sheds/WP_20171015_16_11_48_Pro_zpstvojltrx.jpg

just needs a few new trim strips around it, as although I stuck the originals back on, they'm looking a tad second hand

What i can recall was; .. it was probably the best-est and warmest day we'd had of late ..... and I spent it doing that  .... needs must :vissla: .... the felt was nice and pliable though !!!

'Twere a loooooong Clara day Thursday and thought she'd gone quiet, late afternoon :???: ...... have to watch her like a hawk now, as she is into everything :uupps: ..... including my poor ol' 'puter, if I don't watch her  ..... (and no .. as far as I know it was me that obliterated me saved password files in 'history/settings') :aaargh:

Sure enough, she was sat on my desk, 'flashy mouse' ?(IR cordless) in hand, looking guilty!!! :uupps: ..... with my glasses in the other hand  .... in bits !! :aaargh:

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20171026_20_16_06_Pro_zpsddjapuoi.jpg

trip to town Monday morning .... can't see the bloody 'puter screen without 'em and they keep falling off my nose these last couple of nights :lmao:

Kids ..... don't yer just love 'em !!!!!! :vissla:

right .... we're still in early November as a timeline guide guys .... and ....

managed a couple of hours fannying about with this one morning, ... a n other lil' job for Alex, that he's been waiting for ..... :vissla:

slight mods to some pick ups .... that didn't wanna fit the given criteria ...

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171101_12_25_26_Pro_zpso85jqw1v.jpg

No need to boss it when the pins are getting welded into the cheeks .... and it's only a temporary job anyway .... S type to go on here ultimately.

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171101_14_15_42_Pro_zpsfddlfoqo.jpg

would've been nice if the cheeks were long enough for the required centres :aaargh: ... extensions required !! :vissla:
cheeks aren't particularly square to each other .. or the bucket ... !!! not far out ... but not right either !!!!!!

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171101_14_15_47_Pro_zpsufjtaj3g.jpg

An appointment with the opticians put paid to any further progress that day ... With Clara all day the next, it was gonna be the Friday before I could get it all welded up, pin holes bored and some pins fitted, ready for a 'fit' to a hitch ;) .....assuming I could find where I'd put my bar of 45mm BDMS ?????? :???:
Damned if I could find it and didn't recall using it all ???? :???: :???:

New windscreens for the eyeballs next week  ... with better / optimised clarity  .... be nice to be able to differentiate between the mm graduations again, more easily :vissla: ...... some serious precision tech in play that afternoon, measuring 'the fit' .... if they turned out as good as the set up was that day I was gonna be very happy.

so ..... back to Alex's bucket ..... :vissla:
after I'd cleared the patch, of the carpet of leaves, the oaks had very kindly dropped for me the previous night .....
lovely morning ... sunny and still  .... a rare thing up here, hence the carpet of oak leaves ...
wind usually blows 'em into piles around the edges. :vissla:

An hour with the newly acquired leaf blower/vac. and they were all in a pile at the burning bin, ready to be 'dealt with' !

gear out and I got yon cheek extensions set up ... :thumme:

an essential feature on all mag drills  ..... if you're buying one .. make sure it will and that they'll each unscrew out of their hub for those really tight spots!!

Job did ..... but beaten by the curse of the winter-ish months ..... ran out of light  .... and could not find me bar of 45 mm EN8 :aaargh: ... deffo here some where??? :???: :???:

job for the next morning ... find it, cut some lengths and get 'em welded in :thumme: .... if that pin'd been long enough (for two) it'd have bitten the dust.

Disaster earlier in the day  ...... had a blow out :uupps: .... managed to 'hold it', or could've had a nasty 'off' ... :uupps: :uupps:

my favorite, most comfortable, boots !!!
Out with the evostick this evening :vissla: .... they're gonna have to be beyond redemption, before i surrender this pair to the scrap heap :lmao: ... takes forever to 'break in' a new pair .. been trying for months, but always come back to these !!!!!! :vissla:

... But not for much longer perhaps

pin ctrs for this are Jakie 3CX ... 13-3/8" / 340mm to suit an adapter that Alex has for his dad's Mec hitch from an old jakie QH :vissla:

wasn't quite enough cheek length to be able to pick them up

Only required for a quick job at this configuration, but needed soon ;)

for those that may have noticed .... there's a bit of an optical illusion in some of the pix ...........

Looked to me like a breather vent .... but exuding a little oil and dripping on the floor, enough to form a small 'deposit'

its located above and between the boom foot pivot, on the king post and assumed it was a breather for the slew box ?

Was difficult to get a pic to show it's location ..... thought it might've been a pipe about to let go with the boom up, but stretched out, could see just where the drip was coming from..... ;)

It confirmed my thoughts ;)
I'd assumed that any leakage from the slew rams was going to find it's way into the slew box and raise levels in there :vissla:

First time I'd run him in a few weeks ... and operated him in a few months :vissla: ... not evident the last time I used Jakie and has been parked with the boom 'hung' on its parking post lug .

It smelt like Hypoid and assumed it's the slew gear box oil ..... either gotten water in there, or as said the slew rams are bypassing oil into the box :vissla:

An investigation was required ;) and there was a drain plug under the box, so it needed dropping out to see what emerged ......... sometime !! :vissla:

well Alex collected the bucket and I was greeted with a PM on FB      ..... followed by a few pix :vissla: ;)

apparently it does a relatively decent job ......

I also had it on good authority ... (little bird told me) that there was likely to be a new arrival any day soon ..... and she looked cool as ......

I felt his pain in the delays he's had to tolerate !!!  ..... been terribly slow in arriving ..... from Norway :vissla:

Good to see Druid busy with nicities for us to look at! :buga:

Thought of this:
"said tyre claimed a bit of druid skin getting the bugger apart and the tube out, to get the tyre off the rim"

Kinda makes one homesick EH!? been there, done that and it is painful!!! :shake_hands:

"...tighter than .." (I'll let you finish the phrase with your own choices) "

.....a drum.... :vissla:

varaiations on a basic theme:

....watertight as a fishes #ss, and THAT´S watertight!

See Yee soon I hope :thummar:

ok ..... heading for the third week in November ..... and a certain little person's second birthday :vissla:

got this together for her .... and will hopefully save a lot of wear and tear on our beds and furuniture !! :uupps:

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20171117_13_21_24_Pro_zpsxkam0evw.jpg

have to say ...I was reasonably impressed with the product .. well made and thought out for assembly, though the supplied 'tooling' left a lot to be desired ... wrist slittingly bad, in fact ... thank God for me tool box in the back of the car.

I would like to meet the ****ing genius who decided that lacing the net to the bed springing was the best method of attaching the bar steward though!! :aaargh:

Took me longer to do that than put the whole damned thing together!!!! :vissla:

It certainly got 'the seal of approval' .... apparently extracting Clara after it got dark, was quite a task!!

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20171117_15_53_51_Pro_zpslrkzqgtw.jpg

Thought this bugger was coming in for a landing whilst I was assembling the tramp. :vissla: ... "WTF is that", thought I, as I ducked, just after I'd got started .... any lower and he'd've been hedge cutting !!! :uupps: :uupps:

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20171117_12_16_51_Pro_zpswrhlvrjr.jpg

.... was on his way back up by the time I'd got the phone out  ... obviously looking for an issue, following cables at zero feet !!!!!
We get them up with us regularly, pretty low, but you'd have sworn this bloke was coming in to set it down!! :uupps:

next t night was a wild windy night .... south westerly hooly ........ mower tyres had to have it

Bild

me burning drum was glowing cherry red  :thummar:

apologies for the image quality :photograph: ... best me phone could manage in the pitch black here :vissla:

found these on ebay the one night, idly browsing ... as you do :vissla:

for 45 quid one had to be had :thumme: ... then realised I'd misread the description and was collection only ... Bugger. :aaargh:

Quick booking with UPS carriers and a tenner later, all was resolved. Booked a collection for Wednesday, informed the sellers and sent them the shipping label PDF. :thumme:
delivery Thursday as planned, 'cos I wasn't gonna be here on the Wednesday.. great!! :thummar:

Email on a Tuesday evening to say it'd been collected :uupps: and be here in the morning ... FFS !! :aaargh:

Failed miserably to resolve it with the muppet on their chat line, Tuesday evening, so thought..
"**** 'em, :vissla: they'll have to come back Thursday!!" :aaargh:

Just leaving, Wed.s morning, for the day's 'pleasures' ... :vissla:
dentist, some new tyres for the car, deliver some stuff for Pam and MOT said Golf, when damn me UPS roll down the drive with this .....

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171122_16_28_19_Pro_zpssre4uikw.jpg

not a mark on the packaging and a day early :thumme: (even if it did cause more hassle than I really needed) ... they were very lucky it was packed ready to ship though, on that Tuesday. :vissla:

Having had it all out later that day, I appear to be missing a pick up/suction hose ..
fittings're there, just no hose, but TBH, for the bucks I am well happy with having to go pick up a meter of 25mm hose ...
can't believe I haven't got anything suitable

this'll save me having to hoik me drums up on the box roof for re-fueling everything and be a lot quicker operation, hopefully :vissla: :thumme:

Early merry Crimbo to me ... LOL

having bought this one, :vissla: I also discovered they were doing this one  ........ a drum mounted unit too which looks an equally good bargain :thummar:

Bild
Originalets URL: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/DYgAAOSweZJaCcB-/s-l1600.jpg

and does 70ltr/min .... would have been torn between them, but think I bought the most 'flexible' option :vissla:

25th of November I had an interesting afternoon   ..... examining / drooling over Alex's new mount

All I can say is

Oh YEH !!

lesson for a Saturday morning ....... :uupps:

Don't assume 'cos Clara and granny are playing quietly with the playdough, while you have your toast, that they're not up to mischief !!

Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20171125_12_05_44_Pro_zpsv2rrtxve.jpg

Cheeky mares

TBF, it's actually very clever .... I certainly couldn't do that sort of thing ... wouldn't know where to start

Fair play Pam is very artistic .....
as said ....
where the hell would you start, doing something like that  :vissla:

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20171125_12_06_19_Pro_zpsuw6sutht.jpg

Scored a piece of pick up tube, earlier in the week, for the fuel pump ;) .... me local guys had the tail off a roll about 10 ft long  ... ideal :thumme: and even more so, as it came gratis

installed a few fittings in the inlet and lopped off a piece to get me to the bottom of a barrel ... :vissla:

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171129_14_39_23_Pro_zpszhxmdgcn.jpg

considered bringing it in the house and popping it on a rad, then stick a length of bar down it to keep it straight whilst it cooled and hopefully it'd adopt a slightly 'straighter attitude' ;)

Bild
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/WP_20171129_14_40_13_Pro_zpssuzfpgwa.jpg

.... but did set it on the fitting, to sit against the side of a drum, which'd help it 'find bottom'. I'd see what it was like first perhaps :vissla:

anything'd be easier than hoiking yon drum onto a stand, then lifting it on't box roof :vissla: .... it works well but is just such a faff, up and down and time consuming!!
If it's got tracks, wheels, t*ts, or an engine, at some point it's gonna give you trouble!! :uupps:

Sunday the 4th

Dozing that morning, considering a bit of a lazy start to Sunday, :vissla: when I hear a vehicle on the drive :???: .... look at the clock ... 7:55 ... WTF is that ??? :???: :???:

Head out the Velux window ... only bloody Yodel !!! :aaargh:

Bought this weeks ago and been winging it's way across the pond, from the States :vissla: .... seen better packaging  ... a lot better !!! :aaargh:

Considering how far this has traveled, I'm amazed it made it unscathed and still in its box :uupps: .... although it had obviously been trying to escape

I know I have a spare for the VA-r ;) ... a brand new one, but this was the first one of these I've ever seen on Fleabay and's circa 1800 quid new :uupps: :uupps: ... which this is .... weren't as cheap as t'others, but at 10% of new it had to be had :thumme: ..... I have an idea for an upgrade :vissla: :idee3:

a bit taller than the Roemheld in the VA-r ... but I have the space and equally importantly :vissla: ... it's the same body diameter, so will fit a treat. :thummar:

Fed the cats, made a cuppa and retreated back upstairs  .... damn me there's another vehicle on the drive !!! :aaargh:

Alex and his transport guy, come to suss getting in here and where we are for later in the week !!!!!

So much for a 'later' kick off to the day .......... up and at it !!!! :vissla:

I'd spent a few hours the day before hauling Alex's Kins log grab out, ;) whipping the rotater off it :vissla: .....

Now I had hoped to have been able to MIG this lot up :vissla: ..... I had finally got around to ordering one of those 250A single phase sets that I've been promising meself   ..... but it hadn't turned up yet  ..... and these mounts needed to be 'battle ready' for the next week ......so ......out with the trusty Caddy ...... :thummar: :vissla:

ain't coming apart !! ;)

dropped it on and nipped it down well enough for handling with some 8.8 bolts .... 10.9s to be sourced to replace 'em .. soon as :vissla: :thumme:

expecting to find a similar set up  ....... noooo  ... too easy, that'd be :aaargh: ... same centres, bigger ports!!! :aaargh: :aaargh:

My solution to plugging these, on t'other, had been pretty simple and almost off the shelf with some 12mm bolts cut down to just a head and short shank, with the heads suitably fettled to fit the appropriate gap, ;) to keep 'em in ... had worked very well. :thummar:
Not so this time  ..... 15mm ports !!!!! 7mm gap Argh!! :aaargh: :aaargh:
If it's got tracks, wheels, t*ts, or an engine, at some point it's gonna give you trouble!! :uupps:

so .... the following day ... Alex's mission (whether he chose to accept it . . . or not),
https://youtu.be/XAYhNHhxN0A
was to either:-
[a] find me a pair of M15 shanked, hex head bolts !! (I've never seen any) :uupps:
or
(b) find me someone with a lathe to knock out a pair of top hat plugs :vissla:

Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/buckets/WP_20171203_16_04_11_Pro_zps2w1fbeqt.jpg

or
[c] find me a piece of 15mm BDMS so's I can get creative on the bench, before I can fit the HPX with its nice new S50 cheek set.

Oh and guess what the PCD was ...... ?????? :uupps: you've got it !! :thumme: .... plus the usual 140 x 140 rotater feet ctrs. :vissla: on a 98.5 PCD!!

it's as tight a fit in here as it's going to get  ..... and still function !!! :thummar:

Just had to get those ports plugged .... and before you ask .... no they're not threaded  ... O ring push fit seal ... hence the top hat button requirement to sit under the S50 to seal them. :vissla:

Luckily this slightly newer model had built in/OE side ports, to make the connections conventionally, :thumme: so I don't have to get creative with this one, like the last one.

Pound to a pinch of pig sh1t said they were going to be bloody metric though !!

the lad did good Monday afternoon and arrived with; some 10.9 bolts, some hoses and a piece of 15mm silversteel :hurra:

I cut some 27mm bits and put a collar on them to seat them in place ... the S50 plate'd keep them stationary then. ;)

Did a similar fiddle with the other HPX, but that was 12mm ports and easily resolved with a couple of bolt shanks and the heads ground back to 7mm thick.

Pipes fitted to the log grapple and 10.9s installed, in place of me 8.8 temporary fits, I forked the grapple into the back of his Vee Dub van that evening  .... that made her sit down a bit :uupps: ... sorry forgot to get a pic

Got t'other / the second head set out, holed and welded up that afternoon.

Two sets of holes, as an either / or, alternative for fitment ... :vissla:
the weird 173mm PCD x 6 holes and the 140 square std Kins rotater mount centres, (another weird 197mm PCD), so it'll fit most Kins att.s with this configuration. :thummar:

Remembered after I'd put the mag-drill away  .... needed 4 more holes so's it'll also pick up my beam too .... annoying !! :aaargh:

thought I'd better make 'em a bit more recognisable too, with some APE 'branding', whilst I had 'em on the bench!! :thummar:

Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/buckets/WP_20171204_14_33_42_Pro_zps5ay1lhsm.jpg

this one fitted 'sweet as' and I even had a hand to lift the damned thing off the bench, in the shape of an 'Alex' .... hadn't realised they're 68kilos :uupps: :uupps: ... no wonder I been finding 'em 'heavy' !!
Was gonna have to hump it back off tomorrow though  .... fit those port plugs, when / if I get 'em made !! :thumme:

Clara day Tuesday and Pam'd been rough, all Monday night and the Tuesday, with a gut bug doing the rounds  :aaargh: ... Clara had it last week and had obviously, kindly shared it with Granny !! :uupps: :aaargh:
so I couldn't see me getting much done, between looking after the lil' girl .... and the big one!!
Not often Pam's bad and had to persuade her to stop there on the Monday morning, which she did all day, remarkably, :uupps: so must have been feeling 'proper rough' ...
and I deffo do not want / need it ..... got a busy week ahead! :vissla:

Tidy enough fit in the HPX ... knew it was gonna be tight and may yet need a turret making up for under it, to clear a certain -/*@=$- ........... you'll see why later !! :vissla: ;)

As expected ...... naff all done Tuesday

Got a report back on the S50 and grapple that night ..... 'twere a nice "snugg fit" .. as it should be

worked a treat apparently ;)

It was gonna get a good testing later that week !! :uupps:
