OK ... after that brief 'interlude' .... back to my more usual subject, which you're probably all getting a tad bored with, by now .... :vissla:

seems I got a bit over enthusiastic on Thursday evening in the 'Manuel Labori' dept. and rather pissed my spleen off .. a lot more than usual, resulting in a very bad night, even worse day and a not quite as bad night Friday !!! :sad:

Was cursing myself for (a) being so ****ing dull and (b) not being able to take advantage of a glorious day, without the lil' un about. PLUS .. it was Brightwells plant auction day, with a hell of a lot of interesting gear. :sad:

Alex was there and kept me 'informed' but, without having been down to have a shufty, didn't really have much idea of what was what, other than the catalogue pix.

He had a good day though and we may have been tossing a coin a few times if I'd been there too, to see who got to bid on what. :vissla:

Anyway ... he had to collect it all Saturday morning and with now't at home to offload it again, was coming up to me with the spoils, as they'd all need some mod.-ing anyway.
I'd just about sobered up from all the tramadols, by the time he got here and had to shift Jakie and the Thwaites about a bit so's he could turn the van and trailer around.

Thwaites looks quite at home in what may well be its new parking spot, for a while .... :thumme:

Had to unhitch his trailer, as his HPX was going in the back of the van for Monday morning's job and was six and two threes about what got loaded/unloaded first.

First off was a real nice Bomford flail head, very similar to mine ... :smile:

a real beast of a thing ... plus a very nice, shiny, new 750 riddle bucket ... that's gonna need 'the Druid's touch' in the pin dept. !! :vissla:

slipped the HPX into the back of the van, after we'd swapped the mount bolts for some nice new 12.9 HTs ... should cure the stretching issues and leaks, caused by the same and he shot off home, after we'd had a good ogle of the spoils .... especially that grapple .... there may be some discussions on that one !!! :thummar:

Some stuff down there did the usual and went ballistic ..... set of HPX shells, brand new/unused, made more than new price ..... by a lot !!!! :uupps:

Alex 'mopped up' the odd bargain !!! :lmao:

Rest of the day was Clara-fied, so not a lot got did .... again and today being Sunday, has been pretty much the same. :sad:

My body's been behaving though, so .....
the morning's forecast bright, dry and sunny, so I'll hopefully get a lot done tomorrow .... :thumme:

'Manuel Labori' is deffo not on the cards for a while though. Stick pulling and general light duties'll be the order of the week !! :huh:

I've noticed the same my self.....I cant figure out what gets in to some people attending auctions, cause they cant be all plain stupid, or totally ignorant to an items value / price . Are they "caught up" by the speed of the auction....? Is it some forme of jealousy ...? Are they just competitive, and "must win" ...? ore what?

Enough of that, hope that the "roof of grand blue hall" gets fixed, at least for a few days, so you can get your shores done. :thumme:

Ripped out a fair few lil' boulders, this afternoon, dug a decent pit out where they were and shot a load of smaller rubble and crush on top to fill the pit and finish off the front corner, for now. :grin:

At close on 4 tons a corner, the 'Drema'd take no prisoners!! :uupps:

get those two far corners sorted in the a.m., the rest of the drainage channel stoned up at the bottom of the batter, in the morning, three loads of spoil up the field, out the way and I might attack the ramp. :grin:

It's now only a 10" hop up at the back end, so losing the ramp all the way back is now a serious option, to give me plenty of space to park all the extraneous crud, sat up on the high level. :vissla:

I always date batteries and where they came from

who was sat on a very nice lil' Massey at the time !! :thumme:

Also got to meet 'Mr Kerb', himself, Johnny Edwards, a bit of legend in his own right, which was a real pleasure ....... :cool:

found him and Rory laid under Johnny's new acquisition ... :eek:

lil' international (IIRC) crawler ..... trying to decide where the oil was dripping from!! :sad:

Wasn't a lot of pix, in me phone's memory, worth putting up. ... didn't take a lot :sad:

Have to say ..... without doubt, the busiest day I've ever seen there and what a serious gathering of old gear ...... just gets better every year !! :hurra:

OK ..... bit of a catch up ....
'Bucket has become such a PITA I've just about given up on it ....

so.... shot down for some red diesel Thursday ... wanted a full drum as I'm sussing the 'Drema's consumption ATM, from it's last brim-fill to whenever the next one is, with the hour clock, having remembered to get a pic of it after filling her up. :thumme:

Vicki's dad is home currently, before departing for a new job in Vietnam and 'being made useful' .... parking is/has always been an issue at Pam's old house, where Vicki, et al live and although I'd always promoted the idea of ripping the front hedge out and creating a drive/parking area, I'd never been allowed. :sad:

Anyway .. final straws lately and the hedge had to have it ... Thursday!!! :thumme:

So called by, on the way back from me oil suppliers, with me 10' x 5' trailer on to see if yon hedge had succumbed :???:

..... 'twas in a heap on the lawn, in one piece, :grin:

together with the chain link fence it'd grown around !!! :huh:

having lopped it into more manageable bits, with some wire cutters, I departed along with several other lumps of extraneous garden, surplus to requirements! :vissla:

After wrestling the damned stuff into the trailer, there was only one way I was gonna be extracting it, on me own :vissla:

.... the 'Drema way !! :grin:

Lifted me drum out, stashed me extra 5 jerry cans away and wound her up to stick the VA-r on, to run the Kinshoffer ! :thumme:

Dropped its parking plate on the deck, picked it up and as always, tried rotate and tilt ..... no tilt .... bugger !!! :aaargh:

whipped the covers off and found ..... :uupps:

Bugger !! Screw completely bolloed, so had to hack me way in with a junior hacksaw ... :vissla:

and after eventually extracting the guts ...... :sad:

I concluded it was 'beyond' rescue/serviceable life !!! :sad:

T'other six were fine :thummar:

and all fitted new at the same time ... can't see WTF this one had gotten into this state ... they all live under covers ??? :???:

Anyway, new one fitted,... had to cable tie it in securely as the screw into the solenoid was ****ed ....

..... knackered fuse located and swapped .... and away she went, like a good 'un. :thummar:

Imagine trying to locate that in a black plastic cover !!!! :aaargh:

See through. LED DINs are deffo the way to go on anything like this :thumme:

middle of sorting this lot, I'd had a call from my planings guy .... could I take delivery tomorrow (friday) morning? "Yeh fine, what time", expecting 8-ish ..... nope .. seven o'clock :uupps:

... they had to be 10 miles down the road for 8 to be under a planer !! :vissla:

Wouldn't bother me, but doubted the neighbours'd be too impressed !!! :grin:
