couldn't see us getting the same sort of accumulation we had in December
had been way too windy for it to settle in significant amounts, other than where it gets blown to
...but it had been
savage cold all day and way down later in the evening
You'd not last long out there unless you were very well equipped for it
we so rarely see snow, it doesn't take much to grind the place to a standstill.
Even if you're experienced at driving in snow, it's all the oncoming idiots who aren't, that're the problem
Snow here = major hassle
Well I spoke way too soon in that last snowy post .....
went down the village for the little un thurs. morning and back in the evening
..... drive was getting 'interesting', but the snow was so light and dry .. sugar powder, thought it'd be 'driveable' 'til it warmed up a tad..... been -5C here all day thursday and coming down fairish .. still was
had cleared the cats a few
tracks to the grass/flower beds a few times and had to do it again in the evening .... they don't like wading shoulder deep !!
by later in the evening we'd had a bloody hell of a lot for us ....
Jeeez was it coming down here as it had done all day.
Had to keep clearing the ever growing heaps against the doors
..... half way up the cat flap regularly ....
did it again before I went to bed, but it could well be submerged, by the morning.
Cats wiould not be impressed, not as they're overly enthused about being shoulder deep in white shite yet again either
amazed just how much we'd had, as it hadn't looked like it, but so fine........and it was getting blown everywhere
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20180301_22_53_45_Pro_zpsoyvqdb5a.jpgthis was about 11pm ..... in a brief 10 minute respite
Rudely awoken at 4 am ....... Squeak rattling the hell out of the kitchen
door.
Came down to see WTF was wrong .... cat flap completely buried and him wanting out, sharpish.
So geared up and went and dug yon flap clear .. together with a few routes to some grass which I'd also had to clear .... again ..... did all this 3 ish hours earlier, 'fore I went to bed......
could not see where I'd even been
Had had to do it all again the next morning
Well Gute my Chelsea
Tractor wasn't going anywhere in a hurry for a while next day

Rangey was sat surrounded by a good 18" of the white-shite next day and been like it most of the weekend
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20180302_17_14_59_Pro_zps6aqecmgf.jpgwe had (for us ) some dump of 'La Neige'
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20180302_17_56_24_Pro_zpsvmzvp3oy.jpgwas still coming down Sat. night, but had eased off intermittently ....
Temperature was well down again though!! _10 Friday night
Didn't look like I was gonna be going far sat/sunday either .... not unless we had some sort of rain - or heatwave over-night !
Alex has been out and about yesterday and tells me that the roads were / are abysmal, with quite a few smaller ones blocked
to quote him "
Roads are worst I?ve seen in 20 years "
Main A49 road in Hereford ....
that's a main trunk road
..... TBH I really couldn't see me getting up our drive for a day or two ..... if it thaws ... otherwise -- was gonna take an hour or two to clean the 'Drema off to use her on clearing duties
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20180303_15_38_42_Pro_zpsrvmkhygp.jpgwe have had some sort of snow the last few days
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20180303_15_39_14_Pro_zpsqg4uym4a.jpga rare sight ..... Pam with a shovel in hand

Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20180302_16_07_14_Pro_zpsnp9mi3qe.jpg......you'd have had to to peel them off the carpet Saturday night
Originalets URL: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y450/v8druid/scans/WP_20180302_18_42_06_Pro_zps3yfv8915.jpgBeen melting well today and we've even had a bit of sunshine this afternoon.
Spent a few hours saturday lashing together an alternate water supply pipe for the neighbours, after they'd turned up on the door step asking for help with frozen pipes.
Blue MDPE everywhere, but managed to by pass the frozen bits, warmed up another one and they had water again by the time I'd finished.
As said - thawing well this afternoon .... I'm hoping to be able to get the Chelsea Tractor out tomorrow to fetch Clara for the day
Lots more pix here for the gluttons for punishment
http://s1275.photobucket.com/user/v8dru ... AND-page=1The most annoying part of all this was ..... engcon were having an open day and dig day at their local (to me) branch about 50 miles away ..... been looking forward to going for weeks
