We had up to 27 Celsius from 25.3 to 4.4., then it went down to 10-15 Celsius in last few days. Whole March up to 8.4. not a single drop of rain, yesterday we received few liter per square meter, just enough for corn to start developing. Very weird weather - it is drought or flooding, normal or average weather became very rare. Last year we had large ammounts of rain, luckily it was distributed during whole summer, but 2017. we had drought, 2016. drought, 2015. drought, 2014. extreme flooding, 2013. and 2012. extreme drought, remember those two years very well since my corn yield was down to 25-30% of average.

Yea, the wether on the whole planet is wierd nowdays, not one old sign about the wether is right anymore... Your farm reminds me of my grandfathers farm where I grew up, same size of the fields and machinery exept we had a horse and six cows to and off course different crops. The Massey Ferguson 135 he bought new 1968 is still in my uncles possession and running like new. It was a good old school childhood with lots of heavy work and happiness. Definitely my craziest creating ever. It is diy buggy made literally out of scrap. Engine and gearbox are from my old mower thad died (part of gearbox that runs mowing broke to pieces), framework is from pieces of scrap i found here and there, steering wheel is from hand cart etc. Literally made at no cost at all. Engine has 9HP, runs like a charm. My kid (the older one) will drive it once it is finished.

Hi all!

Finally managed to get my old Stihl FS20 clearing saw (61ccm, 5.5HP) working. Exhaust was badly damaged and cracked so engine could not work properly. Yesterday a friend of mine welded it with gas welder, now it works like a charm.

Hi all!

For the first time, round baler at my fields! Could not find anyone to do it in small square balles so I had to call my neighbour to do it with Welger RP150. Much easier to work with round bales, I just roll it in basket I mounted on my IMT539 (MF135 copy), bring it home and roll it out. Much, much easier to work with compared to small sqare balles.

Finally repaired Makita hand grinder i bought on Ebay for 1 eur. Rotor was damaged so I found brand new one for only 15.49 Eur, it is even genuine Makita. Replaced them and it runs now like a charm. Great machine, very powerfull and handy, well built too. Gearbox is in great condition.

46 years ago, bought my father one "bigbrother" of your neighbor's fixbaler, a RP180 and this one is still in use .

Well, one can say I am quite "late" in usage of round bales

Watched this one while i worked and I was amazed how simple the machine is. Gearbox, few chains, rollers and belts and that's it. Knoting mechanism is very simple too. As a whole, very few moving parts compared to small square ballers. There are many small square Welgers in my area, most of them are 50+ years and still run.

I have problem with round bales. They are much easier to work with (less manual work) but I lack adequate space for them, my farm is very small and space is very tight.

How many roundbales each year, and how many days do you need to store them ? you take out one bale each day?

Here ( in my area, middle east) we had huge problems with unuseful buildings from the past.. totaly wrong for the new era, the most farmers could not.. "rethink" and continued with that they hade to the end, it took about twenty years more.

We hade meny ideas aboute store and drying the round fix chamber balers in the seventies.. one "line" is to put a pole in high and dry position also a "windy" place.

you have small bales, (120X150) much easier to staple than the big ones, maybe five piles around the center pole, five or four bales high, depending on what you has in lifting kapacity .. that gives you a storage pile that have 10 K kg,

Hi all!

Had bearing damage on my ancient Stihl FS20 and started major overhaul on Stih 056AV Super

Now, some explanations. FS20 got problem when it cought some very thin wire while I was moving down some bushes. Wire got draged inside the head and completely destroyed the seal ring and tangled itself into bearing, damaging it. Gear head is not easy to dismantle, takes some power but i manage to do it in my overkill vice (posted pictures earlier in this therad). I also replaced the bearing that carries the clutch bell, it was not damaged but made lot of noise.

056AV Super is in horrible condition. She is very old and very worn out. The biggest problem is damage on the housing where it leaks oil. I tried to glue it wirth liquid metal and epoxy but it lasts very short. I have to replace membranes in carburator too. I can not even imagine how much work she did in her lifetime.
