Did you got the nut loose? Ity might be mouted with locktite thread lock liquid (or similar). That typicaly requires heating to 100-200 Celsius to solve.

I finished renovation today! It was pretty hard job, I was doing it all by myself. Since it was not possible to remove the lower screw I had to go the longer way and remove upper bearing, bearing housing and upper screw.

It took me 3 days to do it, 8 to 10 hours per day. There are 120 screws that hold bearing housings (4 up+6 down per unit and there are 12 units) and at least half of them was very hard to unscrew, plus 12 big KM7 screws on each one of them (you can see where it fits on picture no.3). Each unit was carefully cleaned, old bearing and seal ring were removed, cleaned again, install new seal and bearing in bearing housing, mount rotor shaft and bearing housing, mount all that back in power harrow - that was tricky becouse there is inner part of bearing housing and that little jerk slips all over the place so I had to "hunt" each one of them when and to be carefull not to move big gear inside and etc etc etc...When I finished (at 17 hours today) i mounted power harrow on tractor just to see how it works. It runs very smooth, without noise, everything fits perfectly. Out of 12 big bearings one was badly damaged (outer ring was cracked) and 7 were very wacky but I replaced them all. I was very happy when i discovered that all inner gears and main gearbox were in very good shape, literally like new. This Falc / Maschio HB 2500 is very good and solid machine but previous owner neglected her very badly.

Latest project!

PTO shaft i used for my two disc rotary mower was too short for my Zetor 7045 and sometimes I have to use big tractor for mowing in some fields. I tried to find original telescop pipes for shaft but since it is original Walterscheid i could not find them. So, I decided to make it longer by myself. I used some shaft I found on scrapyard ages ago and believe it or not, it fitted perfectly. First i welded two small pieces of metal (old file for chainsaw chain) to the shaft I mentioned before. After that I grinded it so i could insert it in PTO shaft pipe. LAter i welded that too using 7018 welding rods on DC+ using my good old Elin rotary welder (i love that machine!!!). I need to say that welding with 7018 is pure joy. After that i welded two long pieces of steel and grinded all that so it could fit into big PTO pipe. Now i have longer PTO shaft, i believe it will hold, I used good electrodes and welded it all very carefully.

Few days ago I made one interesting tool I seriously needed- powerfull socket key ratchet. I used one directional coupling from car starter as ratchet, handle is from old car bumper (soo smooth and cromed) and end cubes are made from high quality 12.9 bolt. It works great, one side is works on right side and other for left side. Great tool and cost is few welding rods and 20 minutes

Latest project, just finished. Some "tuning" for my old hay rake

I was bored this evening so i decided to check what is wrong with my small angle grinder (cheap chinese crap). After removing the gear head i discovered that main bearing on engine rotor broke to pieces, i need to buy new one.




After that i also opened and cleaned small oscilating grinder, original Black and Decker, Made in England, i bought it few months ago but never had time to properly check it. Machine works just fine but it needed some serious cleaning and greasing. It allways amazes me how well built these old machines are. All parts fit perfectly very simple, it is easy to disassemble everythig, clean it and assemble again with just one screwdriver. Old machines are my passion, i enjoy so much to repair and clean them, use them or even just to preserve them from getting scraped.




New tools and machines are mosty just crap. If you want good tools you either have to find well preserved old machines- especially German brand Fein, i do not own any of their machines yet but definitely will one day or get some serious ammount of money and buy new professional machines becouse they are extremely expensive.

Few days ago i missed ancient Fein 3/4" impact wrench powered by 3 phase 400V AC on Ebay for just 5 euro, somebody beat me, i offered 40 euro and in last second somebody offered 5 euro more...aaaaaahh i almost cried

How are these Chinese tractors? They are selling them here in Norway too, but people are sceptical.
I do not use my tractor very much, so I have thought for me maybe it is good enough. When you can get a new tractor for the same money as an older, used JD or MF, having a new machine is in many ways better than an old one?

This tractor does not belong to me but owner says that he is very pleased with him, he had no serious problems. I know few people who also own various chinese tractor (YTO, Europard, Foton...) and on average they are satisfied, especially with YTO brand tractors. There are alot of YTO tractors in my neighbour country Serbia with 80,90 and even up to 130HP and owners say that they are quite good and they use them very hard on large fields. They do have problems with spare parts, it is not easy to get them.

Chinese brand Dong Feng is very bad and should be avoided at all cost. I personally know two guys who owned them and they all had very bad problems like catastrophic engine failure, broken gearbox etc.
